Kerstin Lohr M.Sc. studied engineering science in the bachelor’s program at the Technical University of Munich. Through her choice of major in the interdisciplinary course of study she gained a broad basic knowledge of civil engineering in addition to a broad basic knowledge of engineering and in-depth knowledge of mathematics and the natural sciences. Subsequently, she deepened her knowledge in the field of building physics, sustainable planning and building as well as building construction with her master's degree in civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich. During her master thesis, which already took place in cooperation with the Forschungsinstitut für Wärmeschutz e.V. München, she worked on the moisture-dependent thermal conductivity of vacuum insulation panels. After completing her master's degree, Kerstin Lohr worked as a building physicist and as a sustainability consultant at Müller-BBM, where she was involved in various building construction projects. Since 2023, she has been back at FIW Munich in the Research and Development department, working mainly on consulting projects to achieve the climate protection targets in the building sector.
