After graduating in food technology from the Technical University of Munich as a graduate engineer, scientific activity at FIW Munich. Responsible for the testing laboratories of technical insulation as well as the supervision of thermal insulation calculations. Participation in national and European committees with focus on qualification of insulation materials and insulation systems for technical applications. Chairman of the steering committee "Quality Assurance Committee, QAC" for the European voluntary quality assurance system for insulation materials "INSULATION VDI/KEYMARK".
